I was really moved by the following Frank Kern video. In it, he outlines the “5 Principles of Kindness” that he uses to make money online. Since I own 2 internet businesses, I follow Frank Kern’s work. I think you have to put your name and email address in to watch the video, and I am not distributing this link through any affiliate relationship, so I was actually quite moved by the video, and I am very passionate about the “new wave of business” that is starting to wash over every aspect of commerce that at least I involve myself in. And that is: using your purchasing power to support causes you believe in, to support the kind of societal change you desire, and to create and enhance joy and bliss in your life. In the past I was able to publish these Case

Folks, this is really sad. People afraid of fines and jail time for telling the truth. Using the truth to sell. What a concept. Jeff, I totally understand your choice. I’ve been wrong plenty of times before, and my online marketing has nowhere near the stature yours does.

From where I sit, as someone who is deeply committed to consistent kindness, honesty, and integrity, I’d like to propose an alternate solution:

“Go in the opposite direction and absolutely claim your truth!”

I believe we need people who do just that, instead of shirking into the shadows because of this FTC ruling. I believe we need people who hold their clients accountable for themselves, instead of creating mass double-standards. You could, for example, design a comment form for EVERY SINGLE ONE of your customers.

You could ask them targeted questions and calculate the results. Questions could be 1) What percentage of PLF did you implement 2) From your own perspective, how thorough were you in following the PLF guidelines 3) How many months have you owned the product 4) How many total hours have you spent on your PLF-enabled business 5) How much money have you made where you can honestly say that PLF helped you make that money, etc. Then, you could actually calculate something like 9.75% of our customers generate more than $30,000 per year supported by PLF.

Now THAT, is transparency. AND, it enables you to position each testimonial in a calculated, tracked and completely honest AVERAGE result.

People know darn well that they need to apply themselves to get results, and frankly, those who “benefit” the most from these new “rules” would likely NEVER have the balls to create such transparency.

I can’t find the higher quality version of Kevin’s first performance of “Tomorrow Never Comes” by Garth Brooks. In my opinion, that performance carried Kevin. Kevin’s voice is simply not spectacular. He is authentic.

Where things get uncomfortable, for example is if I’d like to start an initiative. Right now, I would like to see if the organic living community is open to starting a “BioChor” in Vienna, Austria. The thing is that I have to jump through major, and I mean MAJOR hoops to get a email mailing out. People who own lists want payment, and then I need special technology just to be able to send a mailing out to more than 50 or so people. 

That is an incredible constriction. It really is! 

I mean, I can’t talk to 50 people at a time, using mailmerge to send them separate, personalized emails (I mean, I read and personalize each one)? 

Imagine what happens if you have a new product, a new idea, an innovation that you want to share with the world. 

Well…I guess that is what opt-in listbuilding is for.

My view: I hope that Mike Adams and Jason Cairns do come to a resolution, and I hope that they publish what they come up with. All of us have searched for information online, only to find the same article in multiple places. Sometimes they have different “authors,” and sometimes that is legitimate, because the source author has sold “Private Label Rights” to the article, meaning that the article can be posted, changed or not changed, and posted with by any author completely legally.

What I hope is clarified, and it would be great if it could come from both sides, is what is Mike defining as “mass pirating?” How many pages? How were they cited, if at all?

Is it possible that Jason just thought he could use entire articles from Natural News and place them on his site as long as he cited the source? Certain article sources actually provide this kind of service as an RSS feed. I could, for example, create an “article ticker” on this site and have headlines on all different kinds of topics scrollin’ on by, and if I configure it correctly, when someone clicks on a headline, the article would come up in my page, with the proper source cited.

Mike could do a better job explaining his intellectual property policies. Can people use entire articles and cite Natural News? What can people cite? What images can people use? I mean, I had to upload Mike Adam’s picture onto my server to get the “Thumbnail” on this article to work…is that ok? Would I need to ask for permission for something like that?

Did Jason really just steal?

It would be great to see proof, substantive discussion…and definitely: calming down from the rage.

What all of us can learn. We can learn that, at present, there are all kinds of issues with intellectual property, payment for information, etc. Movies, music, articles, content from membership websites…certain people think that all information should be free…and they break the law to make it so. We are in a process of transformation, a period where my views are as important as any media mogul’s because, well, here I am online…here I am on YouTube…here I am! The same goes for your views. Comment, and POOF, you are right here in the global conversation.

My biggest concern: I’ve actually found myself concerned for Mike Adams lately. I don’t know him, but the rage and potential violence that this plagiarism incident provoked make me feel that we really need to find healthy outlets for our outrage at the medical establishment, the FDA, etc. I am really glad that Mike is rapping.

Question: How do you deal with your rage when you recognize that pain, death, and illness are disregarded in pursuit of control and profit?
